29 November 2017

Today is a special day where students can pay £1 to wear their onesie for school. A huge number of students have taken part and this is all in support of the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice that does such incredible work.

The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports local children with life shortening conditions and their families in any way they can. The services offered by the charity range from support in the family home through to care in the hospice (which can include anything from hydrotherapy, sensory play, overnight stays, end of life care and counselling support). The charity supports the entire family including brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents in order to give families the opportunity to create special moments in the time they have together. For some families this may be a number of years whilst for others it may be a matter of minutes.

It costs £4 million each year to run the charity and with just 4% of this coming from government funding, the support of the local community is vital.

The whole day has been organised by students and they have also run a charity bakesale with delicous looking purple cakes!

Thank you to everyone who has taken part, the money raised today will go on to benefit those who truly need it.
