We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the success of our students this summer. This year we have seen an increasing number of students with multiple A* grades across the curriculum; including in Science, Maths, Humanities and Art & Design. In the first year of the reformed Linear A levels we have initially a pass rate of 99.6% and over half of entries at grades A*-B.
Year 12 student James King entered a School photography Competition in May entitled Understanding York’s Environment which involved taking a photograph that displays an aspect of York’s environment and wiriting an explanation of why they chose this scene.

On Friday 19th May, a small group of year 8 and 9 students took part in the University of York STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) day.
Our resident Art club the Art Warriors have embarked upon an environmentally important project with York St John University.
At the start of the Easter break, forty-six students and six staff took part in the school's seventh biannual football and rugby tour of northern Italy. As ever, it was a great success and a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
Our school Boccia team had a fantastic day yesterday when they represented Yorkshire at the Lord's Taverners Boccia Schools Finals 2017. The Finals bring together the top school teams to compete for the title of national pan disability and physical disability champions.

Our U19 Boccia team win the regional finals and earn a place in the national finals in may.
The Joseph Rowntree school has been given the opportunity to take part in a new project that runs jointly between all schools, academies and colleges in both York and the whole of North Yorkshire.
