KS5 - Geography

A Level (AQA)

Geography is all about the study of the human and physical processes which surround us daily and shape our world. Students study 7 topics over the two years and complete one piece of independent coursework.

  • Geographical Skills
  • Coastal Processes & Management

 

Human Topics

  • Changing Places
  • Contemporary Urban Environments
  • Global Systems & Governance

 

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed regularly by mid topic and end of topic assessments.

At the end of the Course students are assessed by two examinations each lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Students also complete a piece of independent course work, the Non Exam Assessment, which contributes 20% of their final grade.

 

Paper 1 – Natural Hazards, Water & Carbon Cycles and Coastal Processes & Management.

Paper 2 – Changing Places, Contemporary Urban Environments and Global Systems & Governance.
