Curriculum Knowledge
Year 7: Year 7 begins with an introduction to E-Safety with focus on cyber bullying and privacy settings. Then proceed in writing algorithms and object-based programming in Scratch. They further focus on computer hardware and IT systems.
Year 8: Year 8 starts with an e-safety refresher looking at different aspects of e-safety and social media. As part of focus on programming concepts, they learn about algorithms, binary representation, logic gates, and hardware and software applications.
Year 9: They begin with Cyber security and further develop their knowledge on consequences of cyber-crime (legal and ethical use of IT systems). They then proceed to writing algorithms and textual programming (Python). Further learning concepts focus on hardware, software and binary representation.

- Students are taught about their rights and responsibilities in terms of their ethical and legal use of computer systems and the consequences of their actions in relation to such (‘Digital Footprint and ‘Computer Misuse’)
- Students also learn how to work collaboratively and independently to solve complex problems.
