Our admission procedures are in line with the City of York Council policies. 

To apply for a school place online please visit the City of York Council parent portal.  

Starting Year 7 in September 2027

To make your application for a place at The Joseph Rowntree School, please complete your application anytime from 12th September 2026 up to the national application deadline day on 31st October 2026.

If you apply online, your application result will be available online on your Parent Portal account on National Offer Day, Monday 1st March 2027. You'll require your username (email address) and password.

If you didn't apply online, you'll receive a letter confirming your application result a few days later.
