Massive congratulations to the GCSE class of 2017 at The Joseph Rowntree School. In a year when the rigour of GCSEs has increased in English and Maths we were delighted that 78% of students achieved a 4+ in English (the equivalent of an old C grade) and 70% achieved a grade of 4 or above in Maths. We were particularly pleased that 20% of students in Maths and 30% of students in English achieved a grade 9-7, equivalent to the old A/A* standard and beyond.

Eight of our students got exclusively A/A* or equivalent grades. These were Daniel Berry, Alisha Bycroft, Jamie Davies, Caitlin Gough, Oliver Kilvington, Daniel Malumphy, Phoebe Mountain and Holly Smith. This is an outstanding achievement.

The excellent performance of this cohort of students is down to the hard work of students and staff and the support of parents. A big thank you to all who supported our students in their endeavours. We congratulate them and wish them every success for the future.
