Food and Textiles Technology/Health and Social Care/Society, Health and Development.

Welcome to the Food/Textiles Technology and Health &Social Care/Society, Health and Development Department. We offer a diverse range of exciting courses to students, taught by enthusiastic specialist staff.

In Years 7 – 9 students have 3 lessons a fortnight in Food/Textiles Technology. Through a varied programme of practical based projects, students are able to combine creativity with planning, making and evaluating a wide range of products.

In Years 10 – 11 specialist GCSE courses are offered in Food Technology, Catering, Health and Social Care and The Diploma in Society, Health and Development. Students benefit from the latest up-to-date facilities and links with all these vocational sectors through visits and outside speakers.

At Sixth Form students can further specialise in A-levels in Food Technology, Art and Design (Textiles) or Health and Social Care. All these course have strong links to local businesses and organisations and we have a high success rate of students progressing onto University courses related to these subjects.
