Massive congratulations to the GCSE class of 2017 at The Joseph Rowntree School. In a year when the rigour of GCSEs has increased in English and Maths we were delighted that 78% of students achieved a 4+ in English (the equivalent of an old C grade) and 70% achieved a grade of 4 or above in Maths. We were particularly pleased that 20% of students in Maths and 30% of students in English achieved a grade 9-7, equivalent to the old A/A* standard and beyond.
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the success of our students this summer. This year we have seen an increasing number of students with multiple A* grades across the curriculum; including in Science, Maths, Humanities and Art & Design. In the first year of the reformed Linear A levels we have initially a pass rate of 99.6% and over half of entries at grades A*-B.
Sumdog is a new and exciting Maths based computer programme that we have recently introduced at The Joseph Rowntree School.
